IT’S not only Gian Mamuyac who’s yet been signed to a new contract by Rain or Shine.

Guard Andre Caracut, is yet to get on board as well.

Apparently, negotiations between Caracut and Elasto Painters’ management remains at a stalemate with less than two weeks before the season-ending PBA Governors’ Cup gets underway.

The old contract of the 30-year-old guard out of La Salle expired at the end of the team’s campaign in the Commissioner’s Cup following its semifinals exit in six games against eventual champion Barangay Ginebra.

The ongoing negotiations with Caracut gives Rain or Shine two major players who aren’t signed yet, including the 27-year-old Mamuyac.

Both guards were instrumental in the Elasto Painters advancing to the semis five times in the last six conferences.

In the just-concluded, mid-season conference, Mamuyac was the second-leading local scorer with an average of 13.1 points along with 3.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.

Caracut meanwhile, averaged 7.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.

He also set a playoff career-high of 29 points capped by six triples in a 113-104 win that ousted San Miguel Beer in the quarterfinals.

Just like in the case of Mamuyac, Rain or Shine and Caracut’s camp have talked about the possibility of a possible trade should no contract deal is reached.

The former De La Salle team captain has played his five years as a pro with the Elasto Painters, who selected him in the second round (23rd overall) of the 2021 draft.

He has risen to become one of Rain or Shine’s most popular players, thanks in part to his well-liked vlog that includes close friends and teammates Leonard Santillan, Adrian Nocum, Jhonard Clarito, and funnyman utility staff Eric Nanas.
