FAKE news about the supposed death of PBA great Alvin Patrimonio spread like wildfire but his wife’s reaction quickly nipped the hoax in the bud.
According to the hoax article that even used an old SPIN.ph photo and a link that tried to establish a connection with a giant media network, the four-time PBA MVP and now Star team manager passed away due to cardiac arrest.
But just when fans were starting to send prayers and messages of condolences to the cage great's family, his wife Cindy Conwi-Patrimonio made a post on her Facebook and Twitter accounts to belie the rumor.
“To all the loving fans, our beautiful friends, sa mga pangit na babaeng ilusyunada sa asawa ko……Alvin did not die,” she posted.
“That rumor came out 2 days ago IT IS NOT TRUE that Alvin Patrimonio died. I appreciate your concerns,” she added.
Cindy confirmed that ‘Cap’ had indeed been to the hospital a couple of days ago for a routine check-up, but she assured everyone that there was nothing to worry about.
“He had a check up lang that was it…a simple check up kaya wag kayong mag alala….thank you…pls share….”
