ANTIPOLO CITY - What went wrong with Alaska was very obvious for Alex Compton.

The Alaska coach said it won't take a rocket scientist to point out the Aces' third-quarter meltdown spelled doom for the team in its 85-81 loss to Barangay Ginebra in their PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals series on Sunday night at the Ynares Sports Center.

"There are probably about 30 minutes of good basketball on our part. And somewhere about 8-10 solid that is not great, not bad," stressed Compton.

"And then maybe 8 to 10 terrible minutes," he was quick to add. "And that really cost us the game, that 8 to 10 terrible minutes."

Although Alaska still gave itself a shot of reversing the game around, Ginebra obviously already had momentum going their way after the decisive 21-0 run in the third quarter that wiped out a 17-point Alaska lead.

"After that I felt about everything went even in the fourth," said the Alaska coach. "But too many breakdowns."

But there's no used to crying over spilled milk. Now Compton and the second-seeded Aces are gearing up for one more game, do-or-die game with the Kings.

"Now we both have our backs against the wall," he said. "I think it's gonna be another really tough, fought game."
