ANTIPOLO – Alaska is putting country over club again as it has released Carl Bryan Cruz to Gilas Pilipinas full time for now to let him focus on his two upcoming tournaments for the national team next month.

Cruz was present, but just on the sidelines in the Aces’ PBA Governors’ Cup game against Star on Friday night.

The standout rookie forward, himself, confirmed that he wasn’t in the playing roster so he could keep his focus on Gilas’ buildup for the Fiba Asia Cup and Southeast Asian Games.

“Aalis din kasi siya (so focus na lang muna siya sa Gilas),” Aces assistant coach Topex Robinson said at the half.
