ALASKA is making another import change in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup, bringing back Diamon Simpson.
Sources closely monitoring the situation said that Simpson arrived this week and will be ready for the Aces' game against Ginebra on Sunday.
This will be the third stint for Simpson with Alaska, his latest being last year when he helped the team reach the semifinals only to lose to San Miguel, 3-1.
Simpson has helped the Aces win a title in his first run back in the 2010 Fiesta Conference, still under coach Tim Cone.
The 31-year-old Simpson will replace Chris Daniels, who averaged 20.1 points, 12.3 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in the six games he played for Alaska.
Daniels had 23 points and 22 rebounds in a 119-107 defeat to San Miguel last week that dropped the Aces to a 4-4 win-loss card.
Alaska earlier brought in Nino Johnson, who had an underwhelming performance in the Aces’ 78-76 loss to Phoenix last June 16 before switching back to Daniels.
