LADY Luck was definitely not on Alaska's side on Wednesday as import LaDontae Henton suffered an injury in the Aces' 106-92 loss at the hands of Meralco in a tuneup game at the Gatorade Hoops Center.
Henton sustained a sprained ankle late in the fourth period when the Aces were in the middle of a comeback from a 30-point lead the Bolts built through the first three quarters.
The good news is, the initial prognosis is encouraging with doctors expecting Henton to sit out only a practice game against Blackwater on Saturday before becoming fit to rejoin the Aces.
"Mild lang naman daw yung sprain niya. Hindi nga lang makakapaglaro sa Sabado," said Alaska banger Vic Manuel, who scored 19 points for Alaska.
Manuel also praised the wiry import, who he said was tailor-fit for their running team.
"Okay naman siya sa sistema namin," said Manuel. "Magaling siya, madepensa, at talagang tumatakbo."
Henton finished with 23 points before being benched for good with less than five minutes to go in the payoff period.
His counterpart, Allen Durham, took over from there and finished with 29 points. Cliff Hodge added 20 for the Bolts.
