GROWING up with barely enough food on the table during Noche Buena, Calvin Abueva beams with pride that he now can finally have a 'perfect Christmas.’
The Alaska star, who had to help his grandmother sell balut when he was a kid just so their family could get by, is happy that his four kids never got to experience what he went through.
"Sa amin noon, kung ano lang ang meron kami ‘yun lang ang pinagkakasya namin eh," recalled the do-it-all forward, who then lived in a shanty with his mother Evelyn, sister Jovelle and grandmother Sionny in Balibago, Angeles City, Pampanga.
But after four years in the PBA and a couple of endorsements, Abueva can finally have his dream Christmas.
However, 'The Beast' pointed out that although he wants his children to have a comfortable life, he doesn't spoil his boys.
