A BID by Air21 Express to lure Talk 'N Text into a trade for Japeth Aguilar has failed to take off.
Sources from both camps confirmed that the Texters found the Express' trade proposal not appealing enough to pull a trigger on a deal as the three-peat Philippine Cup champions looked bent on getting better deal in case Aguilar stands path on his trade demand.
Air 21 has offered to swap Noy Baclao and defensive ace Ogie Menor for the enigmatic Aguilar, who is still in Chicago but has relayed through Philippine-based agent Marvin Espiritu his desire to be traded. Talk 'N Text own the signing rights on the out-of-contract slotman.
However, a source told Spin.ph that the Air21 offer has failed to sway the Texters, especially coming at a time when the franchise and Globalport have renewed talks for a trade involving Rabeh Al-Hussaini.
“Sayang nga eh. Pero we’re still waiting”, said a source from the Lina franchise who refused to be identified.
The same source also bared that Air21 has not turned its sights on a possible trade with Talk 'N Text's sister team, Meralco. Two trade proposals have already been put on the table with the first offer tendered by Meralco rejected by the Lina-owned franchise.
A source from Meralco confirmed the second proposal involves scoring guards and wingmen.
