CALVIN Abueva missed his second straight game for Magnolia Friday against Terrafirma in the PBA Philippine Cup on what he claimed has been a lingering hip injury.
The veteran forward said he aggravated the injury during the Hotshots’ April 17 game against the Blackwater Bossing at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
“Nung pag drive ko kay Justine (Chua), tinamaan na siya,” said Abueva. “Pero tiniis ko lang hanggang kaya ilaro.

“Pero kakatiis ko, na-aggravate siya.”
He still suited up for Magnolia’s game against Rain or Shine at the Tiaong Convention Center in a 108-102 win, and the team’s next outing against San Miguel, a 98-91 loss.
But he opted to skip the Hotshots’ match opposite the Meralco Bolts in which Magnolia was held to its lowest totat output in franchise history following a 74-51 loss.
Abueva hopes to be back in action as the team ends its elimination round assignment on Sunday against TNT.
“Sa Sunday baka sakali,” he said.
