DAVID Semerad is bracing for a bigger role at TNT after arriving in a trade from San Miguel during the offseason.

Semerad played in only 10 games and averaged 4.9 minutes for San Miguel in the 2017-2018 season. But he expects that to increase now that he's with the KaTropa.

“I’m excited to play here,” said Semerad, who was part of the trade that sent Terrence Romeo to San Miguel. “I’ll be having a big role here so I’ll be getting a few minutes and I’ll be ready to work here.”

Semerad and his teammates will be facing Barangay Ginebra to open hostilities in the new season of the Philippine Cup on Sunday a the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Fil-Aussie forward admitted he did not expect to be traded by the team that he played for since his rookie year in the 2014-2015 season.

Semerad said he has been working hard to learn the TNT system under head coach Bong Ravena and active consultant Mark Dickel.

“We are working really hard everyday. I’m still learning the plays and everything. But when the season comes, I’ll be ready,” said Semerad.
