CHRISTIAN Standhardinger is looking forward to a solid finish to an up-and-down debut conference in the PBA as San Miguel goes for the title in the 2018 Commissioner’s Cup.
A knee injury limited Standhardinger's appearances but he is determined to contribute to the powerhouse squad’s cause when the lights are at its brightest in the best-of-seven finals against crowd favorite Ginebra.
“I’m happy that I’m part of this family and I hope there will be a great match-up and a great show,” he said on Tuesday.
Standhardinger averaged 12.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 24.4 minutes in five games, and the Fil-German forward made it clear that those injury woes are already a thing of the past.
“I’m great. I’m just trying to help the team as much as I can for the minutes that I’m on the court,” said the top overall pick in the 2017 PBA Draft.
Missing out on a title in his Hong Kong Eastern stint in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) this past season, Standhardinger is hoping to come out victorious with the Beermen.
“I hope we’ll be successful. I’m gonna be very happy to win the championship,” he said.
Game One is set on Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
