AFTER a rough day at the office, Calvin Abueva at least had someone to comfort him.
'The Beast' got a buss on the cheek and some comforting words from close friend Vice Ganda after second-seed Phoenix suffered a heartbreaking 108-103 overtime loss to Meralco that put a sad end to its PBA season.
Abueva scored 10 points and grabbed nine boards in the game while Vice and his entourage watched from ringside. His back-to-back baskets also brought Phoenix within two late in extra time.
The bruising forward, however, went just 4-of-18 from the field and, worse, missed the chance to square off with former team Alaska in the semifinals.

Distraught after the game, Abueva proceeded to ringside to greet Vice and his large entourage. He also handed over his game-worn jersey to the group that also included Vice's It's Showtime co-hosts Karylle and Ryan Bang.
He declined interview requests after the game, but Vice Ganda immediately took to Twitter, where he has 11.4 million followers, to air his support for Abueva.
