ROBERT Bolick said a spotty performance against NLEX on Sunday proved just how much he still has to learn in the PBA.
The former San Beda star scored 14 points but committed seven turnovers as NorthPort pulled off a 95-90 win over NLEX on Sunday in the Philippine Cup
Coming off a smashing 26-point debut against Blackwater last Wednesday, the rookie said his turnovers serve as a reminder not to rest on his laurels.
“The more na nagkakamali ako, the more na matututo ako,” said the Ormoc native.
The No. 3 pick overall of the last rookie draft said he needs to learnto read opponents' defense better in order to be effective in the PBA.
“Binabasa ko pa ‘yung laro. Second game ko, nakikita ko na ‘yung ibang depensa. Kailangan ko matuto kung anong klaseng depensa.
“Iba ‘yung depensa nila kaya kailangan ko matuto. Learning experience sa akin ‘to. Lahat ng mali ko, masaya ako kasi marami akong matutunan para sa next game ko,” Bolick said.
Bolick, though, was quick to amend for the turnovers as he hit clutch baskets in the endgame, including a three-pointer that put NorthPort up, 89-85.
“Ready naman talaga ako kapag ganung moment,” Bolick added. “Kapag ganun, ready lang parati. Ayun, shoot, panalo.”
