CALVIN Abueva is indeed, bubble-bound.
SPIN.ph learned the Phoenix star has been given the green-light to join the team inside the Clark Freeport in Pampanga and participate in scrimmages prior to the restart of the PBA Philippine Cup.
But lifting his 15-month suspension is still up in the air, which is the major prerequisite for him to finally be allowed to play.
“No final decision yet,” said a highly reliable source. “But at least, pinayagan na siya mag-bubble.”
Phoenix team manager Paolo Bugia later confirmed the arrangement in a separate statement.
"I can (officially) say that he was given clearance to join the bubble and participate in team practices," he said from Clark.
It’s been a busy Tuesday for Abueva, who earlier had a lunch meeting with PBA commissioner Willie Marcial together with Phoenix coach Topex Robinson.
After which, he and Robinson proceeded to the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) office in Makati to inquire about the new playing license of the Angeles City native after the old one was revoked following the indefinite suspension slapped on him by the PBA.

From there, it was ‘northbound’ for both Robinson and Abueva as what the new Phoenix mentor posted on his Instagram account shortly after.
The two arrived at the Clark bubble early in the evening.
