COLUMBIAN Dyip has signed Kyle Barone as its import for the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup, team governor Bobby Rosales confirmed to SPIN.ph on Wednesday.
Barone, 29, is a 6-foot-8 slotman out of the University of Idaho who saw action for the Saigon Heat in the past 2019 ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).
He averaged 21.1 points on a 50-percent shooting from the field, to go with 13.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.3 blocks as he led the Vietnamese side to the quarterfinals where it lost to the CLS Knights in three games.
Barone also had stops in Poland, Hungary, Japan, and Taiwan before making his way to the ABL.
He will now be counted on to beef up Columbian's frontline bannered by Jackson Corpuz, Russel Escoto, Jon Gabriel, and veteran JayR Reyes.
The Dyip are coming off a 10th place performance in the Philippine Cup where top rookie CJ Perez led the squad to a 4-7 win-loss record.
