IS Chris Tiu already hinting at retirement?
Speculation swirled after the former Ateneo star's post on his Twitter account early Thursday morning, hours after Rain or Shine's season ended when it was booted out of the PBA Governors’ Cup playoffs on Wednesday.
Through his @chris_tiu account, he thanked his teammates and coaches at Rain or Shine as well as the fans for the support.
“To my teammates & coaches, BIG thank u for making the PBA fun for me! It's an honor & pleasure to play w/ u guys! Love this team! #ROSfamily,” wrote Tiu hours after Rain or Shine was eliminated by San Miguel Beer in four games in their semifinal playoff.
In another tweet, Tiu also wrote: “I want to thank all the ROS fans for your support, rain or shine! Thank you for believing. Sana 'wag kayong magsawa! #BayanNgROS”
Tiu was drafted seventh overall by Rain or Shine in the 2012 PBA Draft following stints with the Blue Eagles and with the original Gilas Pilipinas squad under Rajko Toroman. He wasn’t even sure about joining the PBA until he applied at the last minute.
Tiu is in his final year of his three-year contract with Rain or Shine and it is no secret that the good-looking cager has other ventures outside basketball.
Aside from playing for the Elasto Painters, Tiu also has television shows and several advocacies aside from businesses outside of those owned by his family.
