HEAVY rains and floods in Metro Manila have forced the PBA and NCAA to postpone their Tuesday matches.
The PBA has called off Game Two of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals between Rain or Shine and Barangay Ginebra. The league has rescheduled the match on Thursday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Ginebra leads the best-of-five series, 1-0.
“Your PBA is cancelling its game today due to floods and the continuing inclement weather. Safety and security of the fans, players and officials are always of utmost importance. Game 2 of the best-of-5 semifinals series between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and Rain or Shine Elastopainters is rescheduled on Thursday, July 19, 7pm at Smart Araneta Coliseum,” said the PBA in a statement.
The NCAA also postponed Tuesday’s tripleheader in the seniors and juniors division at the Filoil Flying V Centre. The matches were Perpetual Help against Arellano, Letran against Mapua, and San Beda against Jose Rizal University.
The juniors match between Perpetual Help and Arellano had already started when the NCAA announced the decision.
This is the second postponement of the NCAA season, after league officials also called off the matches last July 10.
