OLIVAREZ College shoots for a first round sweep of the eliminations when it collides with Diliman College on Thursday in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League in Parañaque City.
The Sea Lions and the Blue Dragons tangle at 2 p.m.
Olivarez is coming off a 91-68 victory over St. Joseph College of Bulacan and will go for their sixth straight win.
Paulo Castro, Vinny Begaso and Chris Lalata are once again expected to deliver for Olivarez College, which is off to its strongest start in the league.
The Blue Dragons, on the other hand, survived TIP’s fightback to eke out a 92-90 win thanks to the efforts of Robby Darang, John Mahari and Benin's Kevine Gandjeto.
Clashing at 12 p.m. are Lyceum-Batangas and inaugural champion Centro Escolar University, with the Scorpions of Mendiola out to close out their first round campaign with another win to cap their remarkable recovery from an opening day defeat to the Sea Lion.
Leading the Scorpions as they gun for their fifth win in the seven-team event are Pierce Tyron Chan and Rich Lorenz Guinitaran, who starred in CEU’s rout of Philippine Christian University-Dasmariñas last week.
