PATTS College of Aeronautics beat Colegio de San Lorenzo, 68-61, in Game Three to capture the 8th Universities and Colleges of Luzon Athletic Association men’s basketball tournament last week at the Marikina Sports Center.
John Paul Manansala scored 12 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter as the Sea Horses claimed their first crown since joining the league three years ago, winning the final two games of the best-of-three finals series.
Manansala and Rogiemar Calubag gave the Sea Horses a slim five-point lead with a drive and two free throws, 54-49, with 7:10 left in the fourth.
The Sea Horses’ lead ballooned to 10 on two free throws by Manansala following the ejection of CDSL coach Bonnie Garcia.
James Alvarado had 18 points for the Griffins, who sorely missed top player Jun Gabriel after being slapped with a one-game suspension for his ejection in Game Two.
