SERBIAN reinforcement Nikola Pavlovic found his range and lifted Pasig Chooks to a 20-18 victory over The Hague on Friday in the 2019 Fiba 3x3 Xiong An Challenger in Hebei.
Pavlovic hit three long bombs to lead the President's Cup champion with eight points, helping the Filipinos grab a 19-12 lead with 2:25 remaining.
Shots, however, started to turn sour for Pasig from that point on as Bas Rozendaal bullied his way down low to get The Hague within one.
Troy Rike buried a short stab in the final 38 seconds to seal the win, but the dry spell proved costly for Pasig Chooks as it failed progress to the knockout quarterfinals after finishing with the inferior points total in Pool C.
Beijing, which beat Pasig earlier in the day, 22-14, had 38 points to snare the top spot, while The Hague, which escaped Beijing, 18-16, collected 36 points.
Pasig only had 34 points.
Top Filipino player Joshua Munzon poured five points in the win, Dylan Ababou got four markers, while Rike had three for the No. 27 ranked 3x3 team in the world.
Rozendaal led the Dutch with nine points in the loss.
PASIG 20 - Pavlovic 8, Munzon 5, Ababou 4, Rike 3.
THE HAGUE 18 - Rozendaal 9, Averink 6, Jaring 3, Witteveen 0.
