    Parañaque defends home court vs CamSur to gain share of NBL lead

    PARAñAQUE gained a share of the lead last Saturday after an overtime win over CamSur, 88-84, in the National Basketball League (NBL) Philippines at the Olivarez College Gym in Paranaque City.

    Noy Bermudes had 19 points, while Albert Almaden added 17 points and eight rebounds for the Paranaque Aces, who tied the Taguig Generals for the lead in the standings with a 2-0 win-loss slate.

    Jester Olea had 20 points for the Express, who suffered their first defeat after three games.

    In other results, Nueva Ecija, Laguna, and Bulacan notched their first victories after two matches after beating separate foes.

    Edjie Jejillos had 24 points including the go-ahead three-pointer as the Nueva Ecija Go Bespren overcame an 18-point deficit to beat the Rizal Spartans, 83-81, last Saturday at the Olivarez College Gym.

    Over at the Ugnayang La Salle Gymnasium in Dasmarinas City last Sunday, King John Fadriquela had 18 points and 14 rebounds as the Laguna Pistons overwhelmed the Marikina Shoemakers, 88-75.

    The Bulacan Makabayan got 26 points from JC Foronda to beat the Dasmarinas Ballers, 92-84.
