PAMPANGA pulled off a 95-80 win over Zambales last Saturday to take the top seed heading to the playoffs of the National Basketball League (NBL) Season 2 at the Botolan Peoples’ Plaza in Botolan, Zambales.
CJ Gania tallied 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Delta, which as top seed will now have homecourt advantage through the playoffs. Primo Manaloto and Joseph Francisco added 17 points each and Mark Tamayo had 14 points behind three treys.
Pampanga and reigning champion Paranaque are tied with an 11-3 record but the Delta got the top seed due to the winner-over-the-other rule.
The Delta and the Aces have also clinched the two outright semifinal berths.
“Mas okay ‘yung number one tayo, lahat ng homecourt advantage nandoon,” said Pampanga coach Alan Trinidad.
Iriga City, meanwhile, clinched the seventh seed in the playoffs after beating the Zamboanga Valientes, 97-68.
Paul Guiruela scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Oragons, who finished the eliminations with an 9-5 win-loss slate.
