THE Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is partnering with expert in a crackdown on alleged game fixing happening in the regional league.
No less than the founder and chief executive officer Senator Manny Pacquiao has vowed to lead the fight against 'hokus-pokus' as the league enters its third season.
“Gusto kong pangalagaan ang MPBL. Gusto kong ang tao hindi niloloko. Gusto ko ang game laging competitive. Hindi yung maraming hokus-pokus. Ayaw kong niloloko natin yung sambayanang Pilipino. Wina-warningan ko lang baka pagdating ng panahon mawala na kayo na parang bula,” said Pacquiao.
There were unconfirmed reports that reached the MPBL Commissioner’s Office on allegations on game fixing.
According to Senator Pacquiao, he’ll give a reward to people who can show proof on game fixing or odds games that affect the outcome of matches.
“May mga grupo na tayo na expert dyan para magsubaybay sa mga players na kahinahinala, mga taong pumapasok outside the league," the senator said.
"Bantayan natin sila. Magtulungan na lang tayo. Kapag may nalaman tayo na information, sumbong niyo agad sa akin, ako na bahala doon."
