ONE of the country's most popular alimni leagues, the 26th EcoOil One La Salle Alumni Basketball League returns in 2026 with its biggest field yet, bringing together a record 80 teams and more than 1,250 participants.
Organized by the La Salle Green Hills Alumni Association, the league has steadily grown over the past two decades into a regular gathering point for Lasallian alumni, spanning different age groups and playing backgrounds.
Names such as Dave Ildefonso, actor David Licauco, and JD Cagulangan have showcased their skills in the tourney in the past.
La Salle green-er pastures
This season’s expanded lineup reflects that continued growth, with teams competing across four divisions: 39-below, 40-up, Mixed (Open), and the Free Agents Draft League — a setup that allows even solo registrants to take part.
Games are played on Sundays at venues including the La Salle Green Hills St. Benilde Gym and the Fr. Martinez Activity Center, with additional matchups scheduled at partner courts to accommodate the larger field.
Beyond its 5-on-5 format, the league has also explored other setups in recent years, including a 3x3 tournament, as it looks to create more entry points for alumni participation.
While competition remains a central part of the league, the focus continues to be on providing a balanced environment where both former varsity players and recreational athletes can share the court.
The league is mounted in cooperation with Kings of the Court PH and supported by partners including EcoOil, SMART Sports, and PusoPilipinas, along with SportsPlus PH, Feel Great with Steph Inlayo, Frankie’s New York Buffalo Wings, Gerry’s Grill, Titan, Star, Bluefire, and Zamst Philippines.
