UNDEFEATED Nueva Ecija agreed to a trade with Pangasinan on Tuesday, with the Rice Vanguards acquiring Ed Daquioag, Jeff Javillonar, and Chester Saldua from the Heatwaves in exchange for Michael Juico, JP Maguliano, and Nat Cosejo.
Nueva Ecija announced the deal on their Facebook page during the MPBL’s transfer window.
Daquioag, who last played for Terrafirma in the PBA before moving to the regional league, averaged a second-best 11.3 points for Pangasinan through 13 games. Javillonar averaged 1.9 points, while Saldua only played in one game after being acquired upon PBA 3x3's recent suspension.
The Rice Vanguards made a move even with a 12-0 win-loss record, but also just ahead of its much-anticipated showdown with defending champion Pampanga Giant Lanterns on Saturday.
Reunion in Pangasinan
Juico, Maguliano, and Cosejo were then reunited with Heatwaves head coach Jerson Cabiltes.

Juico played under Cabiltes when the latter was still calling the shots for Nueva Ecija. Through Wednesday, he is tied with Will McAloney atop the league's scoring leaders.
Maguliano and Cosejo, meanwhile, suited up for the EAC side also coached by Cabiltes in the NCAA, and have normed 7.9 and 4.8 points, respectively, in the MPBL.
