NINO Canaleta won't be hanging up his sneakers for now as he heads to Taiwan.
The 40-year-old gunner has signed with the Taichung Wagor Suns as he will team up with Jordan Heading in the T1 League.
The team announced the news on Saturday as Canaleta heads overseas after 16 years in the PBA and last playing for Blackwater.
Nino Canaleta joins the list of Filipinos playing abroad.
"His action with his back to the basket is a classic, and the post-up action is textbook level. We hope to use his experience to guide young players in the Suns," said Suns general manager Wang Weijie.
Canaleta, a one-time PBA champion and the 2013 Most Improved Player, only saw action in two games for the Bossings in the PBA Governors' Cup as he played just 15 minutes of action in a reduced role for the cellar-dwelling crew.
Now, he gets a chance to contribute for Taichung which currently sit at third in the standings at 11-8 behind imports Sani Sakakini and Anthony Tucker.
Canaleta can make his season debut on Saturday against the Tainan TSG GhostHawks.
