Batang Gilas Gian Mamuyac blocks Steph Curry three-point attempt, earns praise from NBA MVP
Along with his 15 minutes of fame, Gian Mamuyac's performance earned him MVP honors for the Taiwan leg of the tour and a spot in the SC30 Basketball Camp to be held in the USA.

A VIDEO of Steph Curry's game-winning three pointer getting blocked by Philippine national team Under-18 player Gian Mamuyac has gone viral.

The shot came in the waning seconds of a game in Taiwan that was part of the Golden State Warriors' SC30 Asia Under Armour tour and was shared by Basketball Forever on social media.

Mamuyac, who also plays for the Ateneo Blue Eagles men's basketball squad, was seen defending the NBA superstar on the left side of the three-point arc as the final seconds ticked away.

Curry dribbled behind his back to create separation before launching his customary stepback move. To Curry's surprise, the 17-year old Pinoy player was able to keep up with the two-time NBA MVP and was able to deflect his shot as the buzzer sounded - to the cheer of the fans present.

Curry took the block in stride and gave Mamuyac a high five and even told the hosts, who where claiming that there was a foul, that "it was great defense!"

Later, a Taiwanese celebrity reportedly asked for a replay of the last five seconds of the game. This time Curry did not disappoint and finally drilled in a three pointer from the same spot on the floor.

Along with his 15 minutes of fame, Mamuyac's performance earned him MVP honors for the Taiwan leg of the tour and a spot in the SC30 Basketball Camp to be held in the USA.
