VIC Manuel scored two pressure-packed free throws in the final 7.1 seconds to lift Manila North to a thrilling 20-18 win over Beirut in its 2015 Fiba 3x3 World Tour Manila Masters debut on Saturday at the Robinsons Place, Manila.
Manuel’s two foul shots broke an 18-18 score during the highly-physical game to join reigning Manila Masters champion Manila West in the win column.
The contest saw both teams slapped with unsportsmanlike and technical fouls for physical plays, although no untoward incident took place.
Troy Rosario, the only non-PBA player of the team, had his moments when he wowed the huge weekend crowd with a scintillating slam that gave his team a 6-2 lead.
Beirut, however, shurgged off its slow start and kept the game close before Manuel’s came through with his heroics.
