12 noon – Olivarez vs Diliman

2 p.m. – CEU vs  Lyceum-Batangas

DEFENDING champion Centro Escolar University hopes to regain the solo lead on Tuesday when it goes for a repeat against Lyceum-Batangas in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) Season 2 at the Olivarez College gym in Sucat, Parañaque City.

The CEU Scorpions hope to use their long break to once again dominate the Lyceum Pirates in their 2 p.m. encounter.

CEU scored a 68-57 win the first time it met Lyceum.

Out to lead the Scorpions are Congolese center Rod Ebondo, Orlan Wamar and Judel Fuentes, while Bryan Buen, Rommel Saliente, Leo Fernandez and August Lapasaran will lead Lyceum-Batangas’ upset bid.

CEU coach Yong Garcia, however, refused to take the Pirates lightly.

“We know how difficult pulling off a win is especially when the guys are overconfident. We need to play with that constant hunger to win,” he said.

Clashing at 12 noon are Diliman College and streaking host Olivarez College.

The Blue Dragons are aching to bounce back from a five-point loss to co-leader Colegio de San Lorenzo last week while the Sea Lions are determined to extend their winning streak to five.

Olivarez suffered a 65-58 loss to Diliman College in the first round.
