UAAP and NCAA players are set to see action in the Intercollegiate 3x3 Invitationals (i3i) set on Saturday at Xavier School Gym and Sunday at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

Organized by former Ateneo star Kiefer Ravena, i3i features players from teams including UAAP champion Far Eastern University and NCAA titlist Letran.

Thirty-two teams have confirmed participation, including NCAA powerhouse San Beda and former UAAP champion National University.

“Gusto lang natin ipakita yung talent ng mga Pinoy, lalo na sa 3x3,” said Ravena, who played in the Fiba 3x3 All-Stars in Doha last December with Jeron Teng, Ola Adeogun and Bright Akhuetie.

The teams will be divided into two groups that will play a single-round robin tournament format at Xavier on Saturday before playing in the knockout stage at the Mall of Asia Music Hall.

The champion will receive P200,000, the second placer P100,000 and third P50,000. Half of the prizes will go to the winning schools.

“We want to expose Filipinos to the 3x3 format. Sobrang bagay siya sa atin considering a lot of us play in half course everywhere,” Ravena said.
