TROY Rosario scored a tip-in with less than two seconds to play as Manila North completed a sweep of the preliminaries with a 17-16 win over Ljubljana of Slovenia in the 2015 Fiba 3x3 World Tour Manila Masters.

Rosario made the basket on the second tip after Vic Manuel’s missed layup to the delights of the crowd at Robinsons Place in Ermita Manila, allowing Manila North to advance to the quarterfinals with a 2-0 win-loss card.

The much-taller Ljubljana side, the second seed in the tournament, looked headed for the win after taking a 16-14 lead but Karl Dehesa tied the match to set the stage for Rosario’s heroics.

“Nung may opportunity, tinip-in ko na lang,” said Rosario on his game-winning basket.

Rosario said it was a good bounce back after committing miscues in the early part of the match.

“Good game kahit may dalawa akong miscues. Nabawi ko ‘yun. Hindi nag-let-up ‘yung team,” said Rosario, who was treated by doctors for a cut he got after getting elbowed in the mouth.

“Malayo sa bituka,” said Rosario of the cut.
