Troy Rosario, Jiovanni Jalalon, Joshua Alolino and Baser Amer to be given special citations by collegiate sports scribes

TROY Rosario, Jiovani Jalalon, Gelo Alolino, and Baser Amer will be given special awards by the UAAP-NCAA Press Corps and Smart in the 2014 Collegiate Basketball Awards to be held on Thursday at the Saisaki-Kamayan EDSA.

Rosario heads the list of the special awardees as the UAAP champion National University standout will be given the Doctor J Breakthrough Player award.

Jalalon and Alolino will be given the Impact Player award for their intangible contributions to their team’s success with the Arellano Chiefs and NU Bulldogs this season.

Baser Amer of San Beda will be given the Accel Court General title for his leadership with San Beda in the Red Lions’ run to their fifth straight NCAA championship.

Eric Altamirano of NU and Boyet Fernandez of San Beda headline the list of awardees given by collegiate basketball scribes as they will receive the Coach of the Year honors while Kiefer Ravena of Ateneo, Earl Scottie Thompson of Perpetual Help, Ola Adeogun of San Beda, Mac Belo of Far Eastern University, and Jeron Teng of La Salle were named to the Collegiate Mythical Team.

Anthony Semerad of San Beda and Alfred Aroga of NU were adjudged as the year’s Pivotal Players. Glenn Khobuntin of NU, Kyle Pascual of San Beda, and Almond Vosotros of La Salle will be handed the Super Senior awards in the event supported by Smart Sports, Accel 3XVI and Kohl Industries (Doctor J alcohol, Bactigel hand sanitizer, and Mighty Mom dishwashing liquid) and also backed by San Miguel Corporation, UAAP Season 77 host University of the East, NCAA Season 90 host Jose Rizal University, Gatorade and the Philippine Sportswriters Association.
