Salvacion fires six treys, Vergara provides spark as Hobe seals place in Republica Cup finals
Al Vergara scored all his seven points for Hobe in the game's most decisive run.

HOBE Macway Travel defeated Jumbo Plastic Linoleum, 92-86, on Wednesday night to reach the finals of the Republica Cup basketball tournament at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center.

Sunday Salvacion had 20 points including six three-pointers while Al Vergara had seven of his 15 points in the fourth quarter as Hobe Macway Travel seized the lead after trailing 59-62 entering the final canto.

Shooster Olago tallied 17 points while Mac Belo chipped in 16 for Hobe Macway Travel, which clinched a seat in the championship game set on Thursday night, also in Malolos City.

Vergara, a former PBA and ABL cager from St. Francis of Assisi College, scored all of his seven in the back end of a 12-5 run to put Hobe Macway Travel ahead for good, 74-69.

Jeff Viernes scored 22 points for reigning PCBL Founders Cup champion Jumbo Plastic Linoleum, which put up a gallant fight against a Hobe team with several former PBA players that also included Bonbon Custodio and Jondan Salvador.
