THE SM-National Basketball Training Center will determine the members of its annual High School All-Star Game this March through a weekly power ranking of high school players.

In a press release, SM-NBTC said a selection committee has been created for the power rankings for high school players from the UAAP, NCAA, Cesafi, MMBL, and FCAAF.

The selection committee will pick the top 24 high school players on a weekly basis until the final composition of participants in the 7th annual All-Star Game at the Mall of Asia Arena is determined.

Each week, the selection committee will rank players based on their performance in their respective leagues as well as other criteria such as league statistics, impact in team, team record, leadership, defense, offense, and level of competition.

Among the top candidates are Kai Sotto of the Ateneo Blue Eaglets and Carl Tamayo of the National University Bullpups.

The selection committee is composed of legendary high school coach Ato Badolato, Batang Gilas head coach Michael Oliver, statistician Pong Ducanes, and sportswriters Rick Olivares of Philstar.com, Reuben Terrado of SPIN.ph, Randolph Leongson of Inquirer.net, Matthew Li of Tiebreaker Times, Norman Riego of ABS-CBN Sports, Yo Sarmenta of Sports5.ph, and Jonas Panerio of Cebu Daily News and SPIN.ph.
