Unbeaten PWU, AMA advance to semifinals of Women’s Basketball League

PHILIPPINE Women’s University and AMA kept their unbeaten slates and marched into the semifinals following easy victories over the weekend in the 27th Women’s Basketball League organized by the Best Center at the Xavier School gym.

PWU notched its fifth win in as many days, whipping Taguig City University (2 wins, 3 losses), 52-25, in Group B of the 25-and-under category.  

University of Santo Tomas bagged its fourth win in five games, clobbering Assumption College (0-5), 72-5, also in Group B.

AMA remained unscathed in four games, posting a 51-20 rout of University of the Philippines (2-2) in Group A. St. Paul College also made it to the semis at 3-1 with a 49-23 beating of Enderun College (1-3).

Chiang Kai Shek College (4-0) marched into the semifinals with a 51-38 rout of University of Perpetual Help-Dalta and was joined by St. Bridget School (2-2), which dropped Angelicum (2-2), 20,0 in Group A of the 17-and-under developmental category.

In Group B, De La Salle-Zobel (3-0) advanced to the semis with a 68-40 win over Diliman Preparatory School (1-2) while La Salle College-Antipolo (2-1) scored a 61-28 win over Miriam College (0-3).

In the 17-and-under developmental class, St. Theresa’s College (3-2) defeated St. Mary’s College (1-3), 32-7, to advance into the quarterfinals in Group C of the tournament sponsored by Milo and backed by Chris Sports.
