Belo, Tolomia star as FEU rallies in fourth to overcome Arellano in PCCL Elite Eight

MAC Belo and Mike Tolomia took charge in the final period to lift Far Eastern University past Arellano University, 84-72, on Friday in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League Elite Eight at the Ynares Sports Arena.

Belo unloaded 13 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, while Tolomia had 16 markers, including nine straight. Carl Cruz added 15 for FEU.

The Tamaraws, who started Belo, Tolomia, Cruz, Achie Inigo and Raymar Jose, now have an even record 1-1 after its loss to University of San Carlos, 74-88.

“Before the game I just told them I want to use the same unit like in the USC game, sabi naman nila ready sila maglaro,” said FEU coach Nash Racela.

Belo scored five consecutive points in a 12-2 run that put FEU ahead, 61-55.

Tolomia made his own 9-0 rally to stretch the gap to 15 points, 73-58.

Jiovani Jalalon scored 26 points, Dioncee Holts added 14 and Michael Salado chipped in 12 for Arellano, which suffered its second loss in three outings.
