OLIVAREZ College outlasted National University, 75-73 and completed a five-game sweep of the first round of the eliminations of the Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UBCL) Summer Invitational on Tuesday at the Buddhacare gym in Quezon City.

Jayboy Solis and John Udoba led the Olivarez Sea Horse with 13 points while Pruvil Bermudez and Dwight Saguiguit combined for 20 points highlighted by six triples to remain the only unbeaten squad in the preseason tournament.

Diliman College also closed out its first-round campaign with an 86-56 drubbing of Jose Rizal University – thanks to another well-balanced attack.

Alex Diakhite produced double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds to show the way for the Blue Dragons of coach Renzy Bajar for their third win in five games.

Meantime, College of St. Benilde snapped a three-game losing run with a 76-66 victory over Centro Escolar University.
