NATIONAL Housing Authority (NHA) hopes to sustain its hot streak when it faces Senate while Judiciary tries to get back on the winning track as the 6th UNTV Cup resumes on Sunday at the Olivarez Sports Center in Parañaque City.

The NHA Builders and the Senate Defenders clash at 5 p.m. with the former out to follow up their inspiring 83-77 win over the reigning titlists Philippine National Police Responders last month.

Expected to carry the load for the Builders are Alvin Vitug and Anton Lustestica who combined for 45 points in the team’s victory over the Responders.

NHA is leading Group B with a 6-1 record followed by Senate (5-1), GSIS (5-2) and PNP (4-4) while two-time champion Armed Forces of the Philippines shows the way in Group A with a 7-1 mark with Malacañang-Philippine Sports Commission and Judiciary tied for second to third places with similar 5-2 records. PDEA totes a 2-6 record.

The Judiciary Magis, on the other hand, collide with the GSIS Furies at 3 p.m. with both teams determined to improve their bids for outright semis berths.

The top two teams after the second round will advance outright to the semis of the event organized by UNTV president and CEO Daniel Razon.

The chosen charity of the champion team in the tournament designed for public servants gets the top prize of P4 million while the charity of the runner-up will receive P2 million.
