NATIONAL Housing Authority (NHA) bucked a slow start and pulled off a stunning 104-100 come-from-behind win over Senate even as Judiciary got back on the winning track in the 6th UNTV Cup at the Olivarez College gym in Parañaque City.

The NHA Builders of coach Benet Palad trailed the Senate Defenders by 21 points in the first 10 minutes but Alvin Vitug almost singlehandedly wheeled the team back into the contest before completing their fightback with gutsy plays in the crunch.

Vitug flirted with a double-double of 35 points and 9 boards as NHA extended its winning streak to five games a for 7-1 record in the tournament organized by UNTV president and CEO Daniel Razon for public servants.

NHA’s win boosted its chances of securing one of two outright semis berth in the tournament offering P4 million to the chosen charity of the champion team.

Vitug also had four steals and two assists, while Tony Lustestica scored 19 and John Dizon added 17.

The Defenders, who drew 28 points from Garri Sevila, slipped to 5-2.

The Judiciary Magis, on the other hand, banked on a big third quarter show to beat GSIS, 91-80.

Former PBA players Chester Tolomia and Don Camaso led Judiciary with 28 and 19 points, respectively.
