Mighty Sports looks to complete sweep of Jumbo in PCBL finals
Kiefer Ravena, Bright Akhuetie and Mighty squad look to finish off Jumbo Plastic.

MIGHTY Sports looks to complete a sweep of Jumbo Plastic as the PCBL Finals resumes on Wednesday at the Marikina Sports Center.

Game Two of their best-of-three title series is at 7 p.m., with Mighty looking to score a follow-up to its 79-67 win in the opener.

Sta. Lucia Realty and Euro-Med face off in the battle for third at 5 p.m.

Coach Mike Fermin hopes the Mighty squad led by MVP race frontrunner Kiefer Ravena and import Bright Akuetie would be able to deny Jumbo a chance to get back in the series.

“We’ll go for it in Game Two. Kapag umabot pa yan ng Game Three, delikado na kami kasi veteran team yung Jumbo and naglaro na rin sila sa finals so mataas yung championship experience nila,” said Fermin.

But Jumbo Plastic isn’t about to give up the fight yet and the Linoleum Giants will once again bank on their fiery backcourt combination of Jeff Viernes, last conference’s Finals MVP, and ex-Powerade guard James Martinez.

The Linoleum Giants, however, will need to get a better showing from Jay-R Taganas, a member of last conference’s Mythical Five. In Game One, the burly frontliner got into foul troubles early and had a measly output of two points and two rebounds in 14 minutes of play in the tournament backed by Hahn Manila, Spalding, Leatherman, Ambucore, LGR, and During’s Barbeque and Restaurant.
