WITH PBA veteran Joseph Yeo and top amateur Kiefer Ravena on board, Mighty Sports Apparels-Philippines is confident of duplicating its successful stint in the William Jones Cup when it plays in the 2016 Merlion Cup in Singapore next week.

Aside from Yeo and Ravena, Mighty Sports will be reinforced by former Gilas stalwart Marcus Douthit, NBA veteran and PBA import Al Thornton, and 2016 Jones Cup MVP Dewarick Antwain Spencer.

Mighty Sports also retained the services of 6-foot-11 Senegalese center Hamady N’dyiaye, and Fil-Am Jason Brickman.

Completing the team are former Rain or Shine player TY Tang, ex-University of the Philippines star Edrick Ferrer, Fil-Canadian Matthew Wright, Jason Deutchman (Pilipinas MX3 Kings), brothers Raphael and Gabriel Banal and ex-National University player Gelo Alolino.

Backed by HC Technology Pte. Ltd., Huishi International Group Co. Ltd., Cebuana Lhuillier and Scratch It, Mighty Sports is hoping to stamp its class on the regional tournament that was last won by AspacTexmaco of Indonesia in 1996.

The Merlion Cup, which will be held at Singapore’s OCBC Arena from September 21-25, will be played under a grueling single-round two-game elimination format.

The six teams will be bracketed into two groups, with the Philippines grouped with the Seoul Samsung Thunders and the Westports Malaysia Dragons.
