Sta. Lucia squanders double-digit lead but recovers to beat Kama Motors in PCBL

MARK Montilla scored 24 points, including a layup with one second left, to lift Sta. Lucia over Kama Motors, 85-83, in the PCBL Founders Cup recently at The Arena in San Juan.

The Realtors, who squandered an 11-point third-quarter lead, avenged their overtime loss to Kama in the opener and scored their third win in five games.

Caida Tiles coasted to its fifth win in as many games, downing Foton, 93-83.

The biggest test, though, according to head coach Mike Buendia, will come in the next few games.

“We play Kama, Euro-Med, Cagayan and one more Sta. Lucia. Medyo malalakas itong teams na ito, yung Euro-Med and Sta. Lucia in particular, then Cagayan is up and coming,” added Buendia.

The top four after the eliminations will gain twice-to-beat advantages in the next round of the tournament supported by Spalding, Ambucore, Accel and Aquabest.
