FRONTRUNNERS Philippine National Police (PNP) and Malacanang-Philippine Sports Commision take center stage on Saturday in the 6th UNTV Cup at the Pasig City Sports Center.

Led by former University of the East player Olan Omiping, the PNP Responders are installed heavy favorites when they clash with the Commission on Audit Enablers at 2 p.m. with the former going for their third straight win in Group A elims.

But focus will be on the 5 p.m. showdown between two-time champion Armed Forces of the Philippines and Senate.

Like the Responders, the AFP Cavaliers and the Senate Defenders are also toting similar 2-0 cards thus guaranteeing a blockbuster Sunday in the tournament offering P4 million to the chosen charity of the champion team.

The runner-up in the event organized by UNTV president and CEO Daniel Razon for the country’s public servants gets P2 million.

All the teams, according to Razon, will have chances to donate their winnings to their charities.

In the lone Group B match, the Malacanang-PSC Kamao tackle the PDEA Drugbusters at 3:30 p.m. with the former also going for their third straight victory.

Both AFP and Senate are coming off impressive wins with the Cavaliers posting a 127-103 win over the COA Enablers and the Defenders pulling off a 91-81 win over the GSIS Furies.
