Lyceum-B, JRU rout separate foes to stay unbeaten in Milcu Under-25 tournament

LYCEUM-B and Jose Rizal University kept their unbeaten slate in Week 8 of the Milcu Got Skills Hard To Guard 25-under division basketball tournament at the Enderun Colleges Gym.

Mike Nzeusseu had 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Pirates to a 7-0 card following their 90-53 victory over La Salle College Antipolo on his way to winning the A+ Player of the Week honors.

Darius Estrella, meanwhile, had 11 points to lead the Heavy Bombers to a 76-42 win over Arellano University to claim a 5-0 win-loss record in Group A of the tournament sponsored by Milcu and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.

In other Week 8 results in the 25-under, reigning NCAA MVP Allwell Oraeme had 10 points and 20 rebounds to help Mapua beat University of the East, 61-56, while Chris Bitoon had 13 points in Manuel L. Quezon University’s 58-53 win over University of the Philippines-A.

Lyceum-B also beat Letran, 62-54, in Week 7 of the competition with Wilson Baltazar tallying 12 points for the Pirates in the tournament also backed by Basketball TV, Gerry's Grill, Gatorade, Clyde Shoe Cleaner, LGR, SLAM, Rain or Shine, Honda, Coach Athletic Trainers Tape, Secret Fresh, Mighty Sports, Nousha Kebabs and Barbeque, FMR Bus Services, and Patricio’s Online Sneaker Source.

Jack Hao had 21 points and six rebounds as Perpetual Help defeated Ateneo, 76-67, while Martin Gozum chipped in 16 points in Our Lady of Fatima University’s 63-60 win over Mapua.

OLFU also shined in Week 6 as the Phoenix defeated UP-B, 71-44, with Mark Gozum scoring 11 points. JP Calvo had 14 points as Letran downed STI Malolos, 97-52, while Polytechnic University of the Philippines beat LSCA, 97-63.

In Week 5, Letran thumped LSCA, 127-48, while PUP overcame STI Malolos, 78-76.
