LA Salle Greenhills stunned reigning UAAP champion National University, even as Adamson trounced San Beda to move into the semifinals of the 5th Philippine Secondary Schools Basketball Championship (PSSBC) MEC Networks Cup at the SGS gym in Quezon City.

Joshua Marcos had 20 points and nine rebounds to spearhead the Greenies to a come-from-behind victory over the Bullpups, 83-79.

Joel Cagulangan had 13 points and six assists for the Marvin Bienvenida-coached Greenies, who came back from a 22-point deficit to win the quarterfinal match-up.

Encho Serrano had 21 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocks as the Baby Falcons upended the Red Cubs, 83-54.

Gerry Abadiano finished with 14 points, while Carl Tamayo added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Adamson, which outscored the Red Cubs, 26-10, in the third period.

Adamson responded with a big win after coach Goldwin Monteverde told his wards that their one-point loss against Mapua in the preliminary round should serve as a wake-up call for the Baby Falcons side that went undefeated in the first round of UAAP Season 79.

Karl Penano had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Bullpups, while Peter Alfaro churned in 16 points for the Red Cubs in a losing effort.
