AS LeBron James shaped his game to become arguably the best player in the NBA, his signature shoes have gone through a similar evolution as well.

From bulky and sturdy, the three-time NBA champ’s latest sneaker now has a sleeker look and a lighter ride without sacrificing durability and protection.

More than 70 people tried it out first hand as Nike Philippines released the newest signature James shoe in style at the Kerrys Sports Arena in Taguig City.

The Nike LeBron 14 Chase Down made its Philippine release last Saturday with Nike Philippines allowing Nike+ members as well as ballers from different media outfits including to try the shoe while undergoing a series of drills in the LeBron 14 Come Out of Nowhere Experience.

Leading the drills were Far Eastern University men’s basketball team head coach Olsen Racela and members of the Tamaraws. The drills were done to improve the attendees’ dribbling skills, agility, isolation game, and post game —the same skills that made James a dominant force in the NBA.

The attendees were also given an opportunity to make a reservation to own a pair of the new shoe.

EKIN Nike product expert Carlos ‘Soy’ Soriano said the LeBron 14 was designed to conform to James’ current style of play.

“LeBron told us he wants a shoe that can keep up with his current game. He wants it just lower to the ground which will replace LeBron 13, and after wearing the Soldier 10, he wants something that looks more sleeker. He wants something na mas maporma. This is what we came up with,” said Soriano.

Soriano said one of the features of the LeBron 14 gives the same foam and mesh combination found in Soldier 10, but it’s designed to give the wearer breathability and stretch without sacrificing the durability of the shoe.

“He also wanted a shoe high enough to protect him but low enough to give his ankles mobility,” said Soriano.

The Nike LeBron 14 is now available in selected Nike and Titan stores at SRP P8,845.
