LA Tenorio feels Gilas Pilipinas is falling behind schedule after having two shortened practices and an upcoming break to give way to the PBA Commissioner’s Cup playoffs.

The national team has had two training sessions for its Monday-only practices that finished early without head coach Tab Baldwin, who is in the US for a family matter. He is set to arrive this week.

“Medyo kulang talaga sa oras eh, but as much as possible, gusto niya (Baldwin) nandito kami lahat para somehow, magka-amuyan kami kahit konti para nagsimula na talaga kami, hindi na kami mahihirapan,” Tenorio said.

The Ginebra star, who is eyeing a return to the national team, welcomed the break for them to focus on their PBA teams, but is bracing for their return to Gilas practices.

“Makakapag-focus na kami sa mother team namin, pero after the playoffs, then shift naman kami dito ulit,” Tenorio said.

That’s when they’ll have to somehow start from scratch.

“We’ll back to basic options ulit, pero I’m sure coach Tab has a plan,” Tenorio said. “Siguro magta-twice a day kami.”

“Yun ang nakakatakot dyan,” he added with a chuckle. “Patayan yun, sigurado.”
