Chants of 'MVP' as Kobe Paras scores 30 to lead Cathedral High to finals of invitational meet
Kobe Paras led the way for Cathedral with 30 points highlighted by two trademark dunks.

KOBE Paras scored 30 points to lead Cathedral to a 77-67 victory over Alemany in the semifinals of the San Fernando Valley Invitational.

With chants of 'MVP, MVP' erupting in the stands, Paras lifted Cathedral to their fifth victory and into the finals where it will face Chaminade on Tuesday (Wednesday Manila time).

According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, Paras poured it on in the semifinals after a poor four-point effort on 2-of-10 shooting from the field.

"I'm feeling more comfortable," Paras told Los Angeles Times reporter Eric Sondheimer. "The first game I did pretty bad. I just practiced a lot and listened to what coach wanted me to do."

Paras’ older brother, actor Andre, was also in the stands, according to the LA Times.

Chaminade defeated Crespi, 64-53, in the other semifinal match-up.
