CEBUANO standouts Jun Manzo and Jerie Pingoy had solid debuts in the 14th Fr. Martin Division 2 Cup basketball tournament at the San Beda Gym.

Manzo tallied 23 points, including two free throws with five seconds left, to lead University of the Philippines to an 80-78 win over Diliman College.

Pingoy, on the other hand, scored 12 points in his first game for Adamson to lift the Falcons to a 65-57 win over San Beda-B.

It was the first game of Manzo and Pingoy following their transfer from University of Visayas and Ateneo respectively.

UP also beat San Beda-B, 66-61, with AJ Madrigal finishing with 16 points.

Eugene Toba had 24 points in San Beda-A’s 107-73 win over Colegio San Agustin-Binan, 95-53.
