St. Benilde Blazers turn back USJR Jaguars for first win in preseason tournament

COLLEGE of Saint Benilde finally notched its first win, downing University of San Jose-Recoletos, 93-81,  on Wednesday in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup in San Juan City.

Jonathan Grey scored 14 points, Travis Jonson added 11 points as they combined for six of the Blazers’ 12 triples to post their first victory after an 0-2 start.

The Jaguars fell to a 1-4 win-loss slate.

Kevin Villafranca had 17 points, while Criss Galvez and Iron Suano each scored 15 for the Jaguars.
